Position Overview

The Special Operations Support Policy Staff Officer II will provide critical support to the HUMINT & Sensitive Activities Directorate within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (OUSD(I&S)). This role involves supporting the oversight, management, and development of policies related to sensitive activities and special operations.

Job Responsibilities and/or Success Factors
  • Policy Development and Coordination:
  • Support the oversight, management, and coordination of complex sensitive programs and activities.
  • Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating the development of policies related to sensitive activities and support for issues requiring short notice information and decision support for DoD senior leaders.
  • Research and Analysis:
  • Gather, synthesize, and prepare background information and read-ahead materials for issues and engagements regarding intelligence and intelligence-related policy, program, and activity support to special operations, including counterterrorism and irregular warfare.
  • Strategy and Policy Implementation:
  • Support the development, review, and revision of strategy and policy direction for the coordination, assessment, reporting, and conduct of sensitive activities.
  • Assist in implementing solutions that aid in decision-making processes related to special operations.


Education and Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Special Operations Forces and/or clandestine operations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with developing policy and providing recommendations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high-stakes environment and manage multiple priorities.
