Description

The Deputy Solicitor General will assist the Solicitor General in all capacities.

Examples of Duties

  • Handle significant constitutional and appellate litigation in state and federal courts in Indiana including authoring briefs and delivering oral arguments.
  • Prepare recommendations to join amicus brief requests and litigation requests. Keep track of joint requests.
  • Provide assignments and supervise law clerks.
  • Communicate effectively in oral arguments, and with opposing and outside counsel.

Typical Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Indiana
  • Four to seven years of related experience
  • Federal appellate clerkship
  • Excellent writing and legal skills
  • Significant experience in appellate litigation or federal administrative law is a plus
