Job Summary:
The Principal Test Engineering Technician supports Test Engineers in the development and maintenance of complex printed circuit board in-circuit test fixtures, as well as functional test equipment for electro-mechanical, hydro-pneumatic, and optical sub-assemblies and systems. The technician works independently to fabricate, duplicate, document, update, repair, and certify new and existing production test equipment. This role ensures that test fixtures and equipment comply with regulatory and company standards and provides input on product and test equipment designs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on maintenance, repair, calibration, and validation of new and existing test equipment.
- Respond to production line test equipment issues affecting output, yield, or product quality.
- Identify and provide enhancements to test equipment to support existing or new manufacturing operations.
- Work independently to initiate and implement changes to existing test equipment to improve cost, methods, and quality, or to address material support/obsolescence issues.
- Conduct test and validation activities and update equipment documentation as necessary.
- Provide design input for manufacturability and testability of products and test equipment.
- Ensure compliance of test fixtures and equipment with regulatory standards and company policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of test equipment for electro-mechanical, hydro-pneumatic, or optical sub-assemblies and systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Experience in test equipment calibration, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and the ability to implement test equipment enhancements.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and industry best practices for test equipment and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with printed circuit board (PCB) in-circuit test fixtures and functional test equipment.
- Familiarity with software tools for documenting and managing test equipment and processes.
Additional Information:
- This role may require occasional work on site to address production issues or support new project developments.
