Overview
Responsible for the institution's compliance with Title IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Ensures faculty, staff, and students understand their rights and, where applicable, responsibilities under the law. Collaborate with campus entities and College leadership to identify and address systemic problems.
Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Oversee and coordinate investigations, responses, and resolutions to complaints, to include supervision of investigators. Provide training to all decision-makers involved in the College's response and reporting processes. Review, revise, and administer the College's Sexual Misconduct Policy. Oversee Deputy Coordinators including selection and training. Consult frequently with other departments and divisions involved in the process. Assure that all investigations are conducted in a fair, timely, impartial, respectful, and thorough manner. Report non-compliance to the Associate Dean of Students and make recommendations to the Associate Dean as appropriate. Ensure ongoing compliance with Title IX by collecting and analyzing data, writing comprehensive reports and maintaining records of investigation. (50%) Provide education and training for incoming students as part of the summer and fall orientation program. Develop and implement a scaffolded curriculum for all students over four years. Support and/or sponsor awareness programming throughout the year, ex. sexual assault awareness month. Maintain a visible presence on campus, including outreach via residence halls, clubs, organizations, athletics, and academic programs. Participate in new faculty orientation. (30%) Conduct outreach to students and student organizations to provide education and raise awareness regarding available resources. Provide training, share information, and maintain regular communication with resources and support services; including counseling, health center, academic services, chaplains, and academic advising. Manage MOU's with Day One, Providence Police, and local hospitals. Build and maintain relationships with Title IX colleagues across other RI colleges and universities. Work with Human Resources to ensure appropriate resources are also available for employees. (10%) Conduct regular assessments of prevention, education, awareness, response efforts, programs, and services. Communicate information appropriately with the campus community. (10%)

Education and Experience
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution required. JD from an accredited law school preferred.
- Three to five years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and problem resolution abilities
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand the needs of the College and work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to interpret federal and state equal opportunity and non-discrimination laws and regulations, including Title VI, Title VII, and Title IX, sexual harassment, and other applicable laws and regulations.
- Experience in complain resolution, investigations, and grievances.
- Higher education experience preferred
