KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preoperative Assessment: Evaluate patients' medical histories and conduct thorough assessments to determine appropriate anesthesia plans tailored to individual needs.
- Anesthesia Administration: Administer general, regional, or local anesthesia during surgical or diagnostic procedures, monitoring patients closely for any signs of adverse reactions.
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, etc.) during procedures and adjust anesthetic levels as needed to maintain patient safety and comfort.
- Postoperative Care: Oversee patients' recovery from anesthesia, ensuring proper management of any pain or complications.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to manage any anesthesia-related emergencies, such as allergic reactions, airway obstructions, or cardiovascular issues.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care before, during, and after procedures.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Doctoral degree (DNP or DNAP) from an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
- Experience: Relevant anesthesia experience required.
- Licensing:
- Registered Nurse's License.
- CRNA Certification.
- ACLS, PALS, and BLS required.
- DEA License.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to values of compassion, inclusion, excellence, and collaboration.
- Proficiency in blocks, lumbar punctures, and intubation is a bonus.
- Familiarity with the Meditech EHR system is a bonus.
