The Government Reimbursement Analyst I will provide governmental payer reimbursement support for MU Health Care entities with a strong focus on maximizing reimbursement opportunities and minimizing negative reimbursement impacts. Perform highly complex analyses with potential fiscal implications for the entities.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
Compile Medicare, Medicaid, Ground Emergency Medical Transport (GEMT) and Tricare Cost Reports for the University of Missouri Health Care System including preparing work papers, coordinating the gathering of pertinent information from departments and electronic records, analysis of information, and reviewing all data to assure compliance with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines and policy.
Assist with Medicare, Medicaid, GEMT, and Tricare audits of filed cost reports, and retrieve and verify data as requested. Data may include, but is not limited to, financial and patient accounting documents, payroll information, and asset and transaction records.
Assist with modeling expected payment in the financial decision support system for Medicare and Tricare by analyzing Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations and Tricare payment methodologies.
Participate in the performance of special data accumulations, studies, and projects requested by internal management, CMS, or other external sources, as necessary.
Analyze data trends, identifying opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and automation.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to gather information and resolve issues or discrepancies.
Develop and maintain relationships with key governmental stakeholders (Federal and State) to facilitate proper governmental reimbursement.
May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
Two (2) years of experience in accounting or a healthcare reimbursement setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Three (3) years of experience in accounting or a healthcare reimbursement setting.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
