Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive.

Summary: Based in any AGI plant and reporting to the AGI Vice President of Technical Services, the Regional Engineer will provide engineering and project direction for equipment and facility installations at all Bodycote locations. Included in this scope of work are the assessment, development, improvement, and implementation of equipment maintenance training, PM systems, basic environmental and safety programs, workflow, and cost control.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): This consists of, but not limited to:
  • Use engineering expertise for planning and execution of equipment and facility projects.
  • Provide direct field supervision for the installation and start-up of such projects.
  • Manage the structured exit from a facility after production has ceased, including dispositioning and removal of assets, environmental risk abatement, and facility cleanup.
  • Submit engineering data for approval of all relevant equipment and facility projects.
  • Create/refine/update maintenance routines for equipment as needed.
  • Provide training on equipment maintenance and upkeep as needed.
  • Drive the full implementation and adoption of CMMS systems at sites.
  • Actively support improvement in PM compliance and equipment uptime at sites.
  • Support the organization's environmental sustainability goals by offering equipment and facility solutions to reduce energy consumption.
  • Contribute to refining and utilizing standard equipment pricing/target costing model.
  • Help identify and implement process improvements and cost reductions.
  • Build strong relationships with equipment manufacturers and vendors and remain current on new equipment capabilities and technology advancements.
  • Guide plants to meet current OSHA and environmental standards as they apply to equipment operation and maintenance and facility infrastructure.
  • Provide a valuable communication link to all levels of Bodycote, from corporate management through the divisional associates.
  • Must work in a manner consistent with Bodycote's EHS&S policies.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% to the Division's sites in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Report to work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

  • Education - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience preferably in an industrial environment.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.
  • Must be a self-directed individual capable of multi-purpose activities.

Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following.
  • Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
  • Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.
