We are seeking an experienced Scientist II to join our team. The role requires the design, planning, and execution of experiments independently, leveraging scientific and technical expertise to achieve defined objectives. This individual will be responsible for assay development, optimization, and validation, working with mammalian cells, tissues, and recombinant proteins to investigate biological pathways of interest.
Key Responsibilities
- Assay Development & Optimization: Independently initiate and carry out the process of assay development, optimization, and validation as required to achieve experimental objectives.
- Experimental Design & Execution: Use biochemical, molecular, cellular, and functional techniques to design, plan, and execute experiments. Develop and validate complex assays to interrogate biological pathways.
- Technical Communication: Effectively communicate experimental results through technical reports, publications, and presentations. Contribute to the writing of protocols, procedures, and other technical documentation.
- Collaboration: Collaborate efficiently with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and alignment with overall scientific goals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Perform all work in compliance with applicable regulations and ensure proper documentation in accordance with SOPs and policies.
- Required Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related scientific discipline with over 3 years of relevant experience, or
- Master's Degree in a related scientific discipline, or
- Equivalent experience in the field.
Experience & Skills:
- Experience in biochemical assays development and enzymology research methods, including enzyme inhibition studies.
- Hands-on experience with cell-based assays, including immunoassays (ELISA, Western Blots), PCR, qPCR, and flow cytometry.
- Familiarity with techniques such as spectroscopy (absorbance, fluorescence, luminescence), and mass-spectroscopy.
- Ability to culture primary cells and cell lines and process tissues or samples for cell isolation or other downstream applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous industry experience in assay development, enzymology, or molecular biology is a plus.
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant field, with significant industry experience.
