Siemens Smart Infrastructure Electronics R&D Team is expanding at their Peachtree Corners, GA location. As our product line evolves into a more connected system architecture through communications, we are looking to add software development expertise for our wired and wireless communicating products incorporating IoT security, and data collection / analysis based on artificial intelligence.

Join our team as we together build technologies to create safe and efficient next generation electrical circuit protection, intelligent energy source selection, intuitive power distribution, control, and monitoring for the smart residential market.

We are seeking a highly skilled IoT Cloud Engineer to join our team in the Atlanta GA area. This hybrid role is primarily responsible for designing, developing, and managing robust cybersecure cloud infrastructure to support the seamless connection and data exchange of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, including tasks like: building cloud architectures for data collection, storage, and analysis, ensuring secure data transmission, integrating hardware components with cloud platforms, developing software applications for IoT devices, and monitoring system performance to identify and troubleshoot issues.

You will make an impact with the following duties:
  • Cloud Architecture & Data Pipelines
    • Design and implement robust cloud architectures (Azure, AWS, GCP) with data pipelines for IoT data processing and analysis.
  • Data Management & Integration
    • Implement cloud data storage, manage ingestion/aggregation/analysis, and develop data models/APIs for seamless data flow between systems.
  • IoT System Integration
    • Develop and integrate strategies for IoT systems, ensuring proper communication protocols, data formatting, and interoperability with the cloud platform.
  • Security & Compliance
    • Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures (encryption, authentication, access controls) and ensure compliance with industry standards and data privacy regulations.
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization
    • Monitor IoT systems and cloud infrastructure, resolve technical issues, stay updated on emerging technologies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Requirements
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline is required. Advanced degree (Masters/PhD degree) can be substituted for industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in IoT products development in consumer electronics or industrial applications or related field.
  • Combination of 3+ years of experience with the following
    • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google cloud platform. Proficiency in languages like Python, Java or C++ for cloud application development.
    • Strong understanding of various IoT communication protocols, tools and technologies (MQTT, REST APIs, etc.)
    • Used necessary writing skills to create measurable software requirements and design documentation.
    • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards (NIST, ISO 27001 etc.)
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Cloud & Build Expertise: Knowledge of secure cloud architecture (SaaS), certifications (AWS, Azure), and cross-platform build automation (GitLab).
  • Software Development Lifecycle: Familiarity with software version control (Git, ClearCase), testing tools (Unity, SonarQube), and Agile methodologies.
  • Hardware & Measurement: Knowledge of electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, DC power supplies).
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to convey ideas to diverse audiences (product management, engineers); ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Professional Skills & Problem Solving: Strong analytical, decision-making, quality orientation, and customer focus; ability to work independently, debug, and optimize complex code.

  • The pay range for this position is $100,450 - $172,200 plus incentive. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
