Cloud Architect

Job Description:
As a Cloud Architect, you will lead cloud architecture design, develop scalable solutions, and support governance to ensure alignment with business objectives. You will help set the vision and parameters for Agile delivery teams while building governance processes that ensure deliverables meet standards for performance, availability, quality, security, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design of cloud-native, scalable, and cost-effective architectures on AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Provide expertise in designing solutions for infrastructure, networks, storage, compute, and databases in cloud environments.
• Architect hybrid and multi-cloud environments, integrating AWS and GCP services with on-premises and other cloud platforms.
• Define, document, and promote cloud standards, architectures, and product roadmaps for AWS, GCP, Salesforce, SaaS, PaaS, and on-premises environments.
• Implement security best practices for cloud environments, including identity and access management, encryption, and data protection.
• Design and enforce security controls such as network isolation, firewalls, and VPNs to safeguard sensitive data and applications.
• Create and maintain architectural artifacts including diagrams, design documents, and data models using tools like Lucidchart.
• Document decision-making processes, trade-offs, and rationale behind architecture choices to support scaling, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Develop unified, scalable architectures that align with industry and enterprise technology standards and best practices.
• Provide high-level business cases and influence leadership, business partners, and stakeholders to adopt technical solutions and drive them to completion.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience with demonstrated proficiency across multiple disciplines, technologies, and processes.
• Expertise in Java, Linux, and Microsoft environments.
• Experience with enterprise caching architectures.
• Proficiency in messaging-based architectures such as Kafka.
• Experience in microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of public-facing APIs and API gateways.
• Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience in logging, monitoring, and observability.
• Expertise in AWS, Google Cloud, and BigQuery.
• Experience with Salesforce and Data Cloud.
• Knowledge of private clouds such as VMware and Nutanix.
• Familiarity with big data, relational data, AI/ML solutions.
• Experience with middleware including web and native applications and Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of cloud and hybrid networking solutions.
• Experience designing security architectures and IAM solutions, including Microsoft Active Directory and single sign-on integration.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $60.00 to $85.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
