Position Overview:
***The candidate for this role must reside within the Sacramento region***

Translates enterprise and operating unit guidance and direction into affiliate security programs and initiatives that result in a coherent system approach, while ensuring that implementation strategies are tailored and integrated consistent with affiliate culture. Encompasses all facets of protective services activities within the assigned area, to include activities at hospitals, foundations, and other sites as designated. Provides leadership, direction and supervision to subordinate security managers, supervisors, and site leads. Ensures effective synchronization of Staffing, Technology (CCTV, access control, alarms/detection, programming, software, et al), and Processes (incident reporting, analysis, measurement, budgeting, repair & maintenance, investigations, event reconstruction, training, crime prevention, et al), to safeguard Sutter Health's people, property, assets, and interests.

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • Bachelor's: Criminal Justice or related field


TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
  • 8 years recent relevant experience


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Solid expertise in formal/structured security risk assessment methodology, including the ability to mitigate risk by synchronizing the efforts and capabilities of people, process, and technology.
  • In-depth knowledge of building security staffing models; developing post/patrol strategies; effectively applying security technologies; and coherently blending all program elements with tailored processes to effectively manage risk within a clinical environment.
  • Understanding of the business impact of security tools, technologies, and policies.
  • Broad working knowledge of health care operations and their related security requirements including, but not limited to, hospitals, clinics, medical offices, and their protective services needs.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of current and emerging physical security trends, risks, threats, countermeasures, vulnerabilities, and mitigations ranging across the spectrum from workplace violence to terrorism to loss prevention to behavioral challenges.
  • Working knowledge to establish and deliver on key performance indicators that ensure high availability and integrity of security devices and equipment that are integrated into an overarching/coherent security plan.
  • Understanding of and experience with change management and process improvement philosophies and operational methodologies.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to give presentations and translate complex concepts into business and clinician relatable language
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Demonstrated ability to work under stress in emergencies, and the flexibility to handle simultaneous high pressure demands.
  • Proven ability to recognize obstacles, creatively solve problems, develop workable alternatives, and ultimately deliver effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks so work is completed in an accurate, timely manner.
  • Advanced level of competency in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as other relevant software for information management, research, and analysis
  • Proven ability to incorporate disparate facts and observations into one overall plan, understand it, teach it, and share it.
  • Superior ability to interact with all stakeholders, build relationships at all levels across all business units and organizations, and understand business imperatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning and tactical execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to create tools to enable the ability to see, decide, and act on relevant information and continuously drive process and program improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct the collection of relevant data; mature the data into information and knowledge; and to make fully-rationalized recommendations that identify risks of action, risks of inaction, and resource requirements; accurately express projected returns on investment and follow through post-delivery to measure ROI throughout program execution/steady state.

Pay Range is $71.33 to $106.99 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
