Description:
Provides effective leadership, personnel management, and communications within the department. Effectively leads and manages the department according to the organization's mission and strategic plan. Provides leadership expertise in Neurology. Manages the department's appointment access, operating budget, and finances.
Job Responsibilities
1.Responsible for implementation and administration of regional policies, including clinical guideline standards, human resources policies and general administrative policies.
2.Responsible for maintaining staffing levels as indicated by standards of access and budgetary standards.
3.Develops department goals and objectives consistent with TSPMG mission and strategic business planning efforts.
4.Responsible for oversight of department wide quality initiatives including both implementation and outcomes. Assure department participation/representation on Quality Forum. Develops appropriate and well-defined measures and targets for its medical and service quality initiatives. Monitors measures and takes action to meet or exceed targets.
5.Provides effective leadership and communications within the department. Assures that the department's activities and directions are developed in a manner consistent with TSPMG's overall mission and directions. Holds regular department meetings. Effectively communicates regional goals and accountabilities. Ensures cascading of required messages to the department.
6.Actively develops and supports a sense of teamwork within the department. Assures that the members of the department are fully knowledgeable of TSPMG/KP's needs from the group, including specific targets for budget, referrals, cost of care, service, and quality.
7.Personally models high standards of clinical and personal behavior, of positive attitude and of individual performance.
8.Provides timely and frequent feedback to direct reports on their performance.
9.Maintains a high level of personal knowledge about the outside healthcare environment, particularly as it impacts managed care organizations like KP and the individual specialty.
10.Works actively with other department Chiefs to promote and assure a high level of communications and problem-solving among the departments. Participates in appropriate training and development activities to assure continued growth in leadership skills and knowledge.
11.Effectively utilizes staff and resources.
12.Responsible for the Chief of Service external referral reviews, in support of Regional outside medical initiative.
13.Responsible for clinician recruitment and support of Shared Success and TSPMG's Equity, Inclusion and Diversity programs as well as any other recruiting initiatives that support identification and retention of quality providers.

- Excellent patient satisfaction scores - No WIP or other disciplinary action for past 2 years

- Willing to assist with implementation of diversity/cultural programs in local setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, collaboration, and negotiation.
- Total familiarity with TSPMG delivery system
