Job Title: CT Technologist
Job Specialty: Computed Tomography
Job Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Night 5x8 Hr
Guaranteed Hours: 40.00
Experience: One year of experience in CT
License: Current State licensure as applicable
Certifications: ARRT registered technologist, Basic Life Support (BLS) certified for healthcare providers
Must-Have: CT registered by ARRT
Job Description:
- Perform high-quality CT procedures with ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
- Ensure proper patient identification and order verification, and prepare the patient for exams according to department protocol.
- Demonstrate anatomical positioning competency and understand cross-sectional anatomy.
- Follow proper radiation safety protocols adhering to the ALARA program.
- Critique films and complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or the quality of the examination.
- Administer oral barium products or intravenous contrast material to patients as ordered by the physician under radiologist/physician supervision.
- Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques and provide patient education to assure comfort.
- Operate all CT equipment and related information systems properly to produce quality images.
- Demonstrate proficiency with electronic imaging and working knowledge of contrast injectors and laser printers.
- Thoroughly complete all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.
- Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding and charging, obtaining consents if necessary, and maintaining a current QC program for ACR.
- Report any equipment failures or problems promptly.
