SUMMARY

The Technical Architect's primary purpose is to design and architect enterprise solutions. Collaborates with business partners in IT, other departments, leadership, and with vendors to carry out architectural solutions. Performs technical analysis , technical architecture definition, system application support, and software development for the organization. Builds road maps, proof of concepts, enforces security, mentor junior developers, and follows and helps create coding standards and best practices. Carries out end to end implementation or support for a specific system, including definition of non-functional requirements, creation of technical architecture, helping in solution definition, creation of technical specifications, technical development of solution, support of testing effort, problem definition, solution development, and management of cut over activities. Works on integrating data from multiple sources into the service now platform.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scopes, estimates, designs, and architects the integration between different IT systems and applications.
  • Extracts, Transforms, Loads (ETL), designs, and develops using integration tools.
  • Provides ideas and proofs of concept for new solutions and technologies following best practices. Creates new capabilities to support the IT service management environment and to support business areas outside of IT.
  • Architects different applications on relational databases.
  • Collaborates with team members, quality assurance, technical architects, solutions team, operations, marketing, and finance teams to recommend and implement solutions that enable simplification of manual processes, making processes more efficient.
  • Gathers, organizes, and communicates solutions for business customers (such as status, issues, etc.).
  • Provides input to enterprise application and process architecture throughout the organization.
  • Designs prototypes, and further designs and develops solutions for different applications.
  • Trains business partners throughout the organization on different IT platforms, systems, and applications as needed, including training on changes and updates.
  • Ingests data from several source systems, cleanses/transforms data into actionable insights and builds dashboards. Develops custom reports, documents, dashboards, and other necessary tools as needed.
  • Builds data models for different applications and systems.
  • Translates business capabilities into solutions, identifies application gaps, and identifies when new solutions are needed.
  • Performs role of application architect and technical architect. Defines appropriate technical architecture to support a solution.
  • Reviews requirements documents, elicits non-functional requirements, approves technical specifications, and performs testing and quality assurance.
  • Interface with business users and management. Self-manages production and project work activities, involved in project estimation.
  • Performs management of third-party labor. Manages hardware and software vendors.
  • Supports different IT applications and multiple IT systems areas and users.
  • Develops shared frameworks allowing code reusability.
  • Executes a leading role on the Solutions Architect Review Board (SARB) Committee when solutions reach a Proof of Concept (POC) stage.
  • Participates in and/or drafts technical contract terms, and reviews technical terms to ensure alignment with the organization's technology ecosystem and strategy.
  • Mentors developers on best practices in software development.
  • Protects the company's assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.
  • Measurable Outcomes: Delivers project commitments aligned to value priorities such as scope, schedule, and budget to meet strategic goals of projects set by the organization. Effectively and efficiently supports the production environment. Drives EBITDA through influence of increased sales or savings targets set by annual strategy planning to meet goals set by the organization. Brings the culture of technology to life.
  • On-Call Duties: On-call for issues that may arise from time to time.

  • No supervisory responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Five - seven years of related experience.
  • Experience successfully carrying out end to end implementation of IT solutions and support.
  • Technical architecture development experience required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to prioritize tasks and projects.
  • Strategic agility, business acumen, and cross functional capacity.
