Position: Project Manager
Note: On-site role in NY or Atlanta
Responsibilities:
Determine project scope and objectives in accordance with Project Sponsor direction
Use appropriate project management methodology to lead this multi-year project from planning to execution
Ability to manage tasks across cross functional teams such as IT, Audit, External Vendors
Develop Project Plans in consultation with appropriate project stakeholders and manage the resource needs along with the team's performance in all project tasks and deliverables
Responsible for providing project status, risk management, and escalation of issues as needed
Ensures that project is delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Primary liaison point for all internal and external Project Stakeholders
Identification and escalation of issues to Key Decision Stakeholders
Manage project execution, monitoring deliverables, resources and budget
May lead efforts to develop new or revised processes/procedures for the assigned business areas
Conducts after action reviews (AAR) for all completed projects so lessons are learned and mistakes are not duplicated
Required Skills:
Bachelors or Masters degree required
Greater than five years of project management experience preferably in the financial services and/or insurance industry
A Bachelor's Degree is required but the ideal candidate will have a Masters Degree
Demonstrated success in the management of operational as well as IT projects
Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines. Be pro-active
Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Must possess strong presentation skills
The ideal candidate would have broad range of insurance knowledge and experience.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
Experience in data analysis is a requirement - must be able to run reports and analyze trends and issues
Experience in compliance and regulatory requirements would be a plus
Strong verbal & written communication skills are required along with excellent listening skills
Must demonstrate an ability to communicate and implement ideas
Must be able to direct and manage diverse teams from different disciplines
Project management or Certified Scrum Master certification required
For individuals hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skills sets: experience and training, licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $125,000 - $175,000.
