What You'll Do:

  • The Director provides Engineering Leadership in the areas of equipment excellence, facility management, maintenance, and project management.
  • Provide the equipment engineering leadership, infrastructure, and support to the plants through development and implementation of SSB Production System.
  • Provides overall leadership for all engineering deployment activities and facility transitions including new and disposition of manufacturing centers.
  • Ensure that the Technology Roadmap and Project Prioritization Matrix stays up to date and that the team understands workload and KPI's for assigned tasks.
  • Lead Facilities Strategy to support global footprint and corporate investments to include regular reporting and presentation for executive leadership, including oversite of the real estate discovery process, property assessments and achieve the best cost possible for buildings, improvements, and utilities.
  • Responsible for capital improvement projects, new equipment launched into production and sustaining engineering of existing equipment for quality, cost, and delivery improvement.
  • Support corporate driven manufacturing maintenance program: Maintain electronic databases of equipment/tools/fixture designs, spare parts, setup/work instructions, and TPM maintenance to benchmark the organization's knowledge base.
  • Drive completion of detailed analysis for decision makers for capital investment business cases.
  • Support the implementation of lean supply chain, quality, and safety initiatives.
  • Work with Process Engineering on New Product Development Teams to guarantee smooth product transition from concept to delivery for new or existing processes.
  • Develop platforms for new manufacturing equipment and deliver a competitive advantage with financial ROI.
  • Provide sustaining engineering design control for equipment automation life cycle management.
  • Program/Project Management - Develop strategic programs for creating step function change within the organization and manage projects from conception through completion.
  • Acts as a player/coach to develop talent, organization, and process to achieve results.


How You'll Do It:

  • Experience, education, and training in lean techniques or TPS system preferred
  • Understanding and experience with CMMS programs
  • Knowledge of legal contracts and lease documents
  • Able to identify, develop, and lead projects independently
  • Able to excel in a team environment working internally and externally
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to complete complex projects within prescribed timeframes
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Possess tact, maturity, flexibility, and a high energy level
  • Comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with normal activities
  • Experience advising senior management


TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • Manufacturing methods, processes and technology
  • Project management; including budget creation, contractor quoting, project oversight/tracking, and close out procedures
  • Shop floor/manufacturing/engineering of finished products
  • Strong orientation towards data and financial analysis.


What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years minimum experience in engineering or manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years minimum experience in an engineering leadership role
  • Machine Design and Automaton
  • 2-D and 3-D CAD / Solid Edge, Works / Plant layouts / MEP design drawings
  • Experience creating detailed equipment specifications and documentation


Desired:
  • Advanced Degree in engineering or MBA
  • Professional license in Engineering (PE)
  • Professional certification in project management (PMP)
