We are seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join our innovation-driven engineering team within the Industrial Design department at MerchSource. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge product development across multiple categories and brands.
As a key individual contributor, you will bring deep technical expertise in mechanical and product design engineering, driving concept development, prototyping, and quality control. You will collaborate closely with industrial designers, as well as marketing teams, product developers, and manufacturing partners to transform ideas into market-ready products.

We are seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join our innovation-driven engineering team within the Industrial Design department at MerchSource. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge product development across multiple categories and brands.
As a key individual contributor, you will bring deep technical expertise in mechanical and product design engineering, driving concept development, prototyping, and quality control. You will collaborate closely with industrial designers, as well as marketing teams, product developers, and manufacturing partners to transform ideas into market-ready products.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with award-winning Industrial Designers to develop and validate innovative product concepts.
- Lead proof-of-concept development and prototyping, ensuring feasibility, performance, and manufacturability.
- Oversee product realization and quality control, working closely with internal product development teams and global manufacturing partners.
- Utilize SolidWorks to create complex 3D models, including advanced surfacing techniques.
- Apply Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and material selection principles to optimize product performance.
- Design and develop mechanisms, functional prototypes, and 3D-printed components.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, marketing, merchandising, and project management teams.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with international manufacturing partners and provide support for production ramp-up.
- Travel internationally (primarily to Asia) as needed for manufacturing oversight and project coordination.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, self-motivated approach to challenges.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Junior Mechanical Engineers.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Product Design focus preferred).
- 8+ years of professional experience in consumer electronics or a related field.
- Expertise in volume manufacturing processes and material selection.
- Highly proficient in SolidWorks, with a strong command of complex surfacing techniques.
- Experience in mechanism design, prototyping, and plastic printing.
- Understanding of electrical engineering to support inside-out product development.
- Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and drive projects forward with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Compensation, Benefits, and Perks:
- Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000. This salary is a good faith range for the role at time of posting. The actual compensation package offered will depend on a number of factors, including but not limited to: experience, education, background, and qualifications.

- In-office collaboration Monday through Thursday and remote flexibility on Fridays.
