Restricted to permanent County of Los Angeles employees who have successfully completed their probationary period and currently hold the Fiscal Officer I payroll title OR a comparable classification title performing similar work outlined in the requirements' section.
Vacancy Information:
The Executive Office of the Board of Supervisor is seeking a highly-qualified, and extremely motivated individual to fill a position in the Fiscal Services Division.

This exciting transfer opportunity is located at the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration building in downtown Los Angeles, which conveniently offers proximity to various forms of public transportation and parking options. The address is 500 West Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012. This position offers a 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule AND a hybrid schedule. The County of Los Angeles provides employees who work in the Civic Center with a $70 per month Traffic Mitigation Allowance (not applicable for night shift and early shift employees).

Essential Job Functions

  • Plans, assigns, directs, and evaluates the work of the accounting, budget control and compilation, cashiering, supply, payroll, statistical, data processing, and other staff or service activities of a department.
  • Provides major non-accounting financial responsibility involving supervision of an active collection program, making recommendations concerning the management and investment of large funds, preparation of highly technical financial analyses and projections, or negotiation and administration of revenue producing agreements.
  • Provides major substantive responsibility for the formulation, analysis, and negotiation of departmental operating and program budgets, as required.
  • Advises and consults with management concerning the accounting and financial implications of existing and projected departmental operations.
  • Supervises or personally conducts cost, revenue, and accounting systems and procedures studies; writes reports of findings; and secures approval for implementation of recommendations from departmental administration and the Auditor-Controller, when necessary.
  • Analyzes and interprets accounting provisions of laws and regulations, and recommends steps for their implementation.
  • Coordinates the work of subordinate accounting, financial, and other activities with other divisions, departments, and clientele.
  • Acts as immediate overall assistant to a higher level fiscal officer.

Requirements
This position is restricted to permanent County of Los Angeles employees who have successfully completed their probationary period AND currently hold the Fiscal Officer I payroll title.
OR
A comparable payroll title at the level of Fiscal Officer I and perform similar work at an equivalent salary and complexity in accordance with Civil Service Rule 15.
