Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Engineer - Head of Powertrain Performance Integration to lead the integration of vehicle performance properties, including Fuel Economy, EV Range, Powertrain Performance, and HVAC across our product line.

As a key member of our team, you will drive the performance integration processes, ensuring our vehicles meet market needs, while managing simulation tools, data analysis, and property integration teams. Responsibilities

  • Powertrain Integration & Performance: Lead the integration of vehicle properties such as fuel economy, EV range, powertrain performance, and HVAC in conjunction with the Group, Brand Validation, and Product Property teams.
  • Target Cascade & Data Analysis: Oversee target cascade processes and data analysis to ensure alignment with market demands and customer requirements.
  • Simulation & Analysis: Conduct powertrain performance, range, and fuel economy simulations to support program/project goals and customer duty cycles. Develop simulation tools to assist design teams in evaluating the impact of their designs on range.
  • Sales & Performance Support: Provide sales support and analytical expertise for Fuel Economy, Range, and Performance across various markets.
  • Competitive Benchmarking: Perform competitive benchmarking in collaboration with Product Property owners, Validation, and Modular Solutions teams to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Reporting & Leadership: Regularly report on project status, performance metrics, and key findings to both Brand and Group leadership. Manage the integration of data and flow needs across the organization.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Manage project budgets within the agile landscape, coordinating with brand validation teams, VCT/VCF's, and other departments.
  • Process & Capability Development: Support the optimization of department capacities and capabilities, ensuring smooth performance across all product and process life-cycle stages.
  • Modularization & Validation: Safeguard modularization efforts across the value flow, ensuring interfaces between systems, components, and parts meet International Motors' validation standards.
  • Escalation Management: Oversee the management of ways of working and principles, managing escalations and ensuring swift resolutions.
  • Organizational Leadership: Foster a strong team culture, promoting innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Personnel Management: Lead the recruiting, hiring, sourcing, staffing, and development of internal and external resources, ensuring a strong and capable team.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
  • At least 10 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
  • At least 4 years of experience managing technical professionals and technical staff in engineering and design activities

OR
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
  • At least 8 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
  • At least 4 years of experience managing technical professionals and technical staff in engineering and design activities

OR
  • PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
  • At least 6 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
  • At least 4 years of experience managing technical professionals and technical staff in engineering and design activities


Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.   • Proven experience in powertrain performance, fuel economy, and EV range integration.
  • Strong understanding of simulation tools and methodologies.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and leading projects in an agile environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in competitive benchmarking, data analysis, and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of modular solutions, systems integration, and vehicle validation processes.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Proven track record of personnel management, including recruiting, hiring, and staff development.
