Are you ready to take your engineering career to the next level? A leading manufacturer in Salem, VA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing team. This is a hands-on role in a precision CNC machining environment, where you'll play a critical role in process improvements, equipment implementation, and cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation and efficiency.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Process Champion: Lead process improvements for precision CNC machining, ensuring high-quality and efficient production.
- Equipment Innovator: Oversee the installation, implementation, and training for new CNC machinery and ensure safe, seamless operation.
- Advanced Technology: Work with state-of-the-art vision-controlled robotics systems and leverage a 3D Printing Lab for prototype development.
- Continuous Improvement Leader: Drive cost reduction, quality enhancements, and faster production through Lean initiatives and innovative solutions.
- Project Steward: Manage capital projects aligned with strategic goals and long-term company growth.
- Design & Efficiency Expert: Develop and optimize tools, fixtures, and manufacturing processes to increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Operational Auditor: Evaluate current CNC equipment and tooling, recommending updates to maintain a competitive edge.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering (or 10 years of relevant experience).
- At least 3 years of experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering results.
- Expertise in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
