Overview: The Director of Safety, Security, and Facilities will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of safety, security, and facilities operations at ThayerMahan's Groton, CT location. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in safety and security management, facilities maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety and security programs to protect employees, visitors, and assets from potential risks and threats.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and security regulations.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of all facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems.
  • Manage the security team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular drills and training sessions.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services to ensure effective response to incidents.
  • Prepare and manage the budget for safety, security, and facilities operations.
  • Monitor and analyze safety and security metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and security of all company assets, including buildings, equipment, and vehicles.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Security Management, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in safety, security, and facilities management, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of safety and security regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective safety and security programs.
  • Experience with budget management and financial planning.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in the maritime or defense industry.
  • Certification in safety or security management (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Protection Professional).
