What the Role Is

The Senior Corporate Accountant, reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting, is responsible for all accounting functions and financial reporting for Heaven Hill's non-manufacturing international entities. This position facilitates and develops policies and procedures to ensure the issuance of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS. In addition, the Senior Corporate Accountant leads and supports the monthly close and global consolidation of accounts. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of complex accounting activities involving currency, intercompany transactions, acquisitions and ERP setup and maintenance.

How You Will Spend Your Time?
  • Manage all aspects of the monthly close, account reconciliations and consolidation of financial records for Heaven Hill's non-manufacturing international entities.
  • Works closely with Plant and Corporate Accountants to lead the monthly financial close schedule.
  • Perform the global consolidation of accounts. Ensure the proper recording and elimination of intercompany transactions surrounding sales, cost of sales, transfer price, inventory, shared services, partnerships, distributions and loans.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and international related tax and compliance reporting.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and present the findings to Board of Directors quarterly in Ireland.
  • Prepare the ICO settlement/ dividend file.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of each entities financial reporting and current accounting policies and procedures as well as composing and disseminating new procedures and policies as necessitated by best practices and changes in federal, state and international regulations and accounting authorities.
  • Lead annual international financial audits by coordinating the workflow and collection of necessary documents, updating memos and preparing the annual consolidated financial report.
  • Ensure that account coding aligns with departmental and operational budgets; provide the necessary communication and training across the organization.
  • Maintain accounting for Joint Venture, prepare a monthly summary and perform the quarterly shareholder dividend calculation.
  • Ensure the proper recording of foreign currency transactions in the general ledger, balance sheet revaluations and translations.
  • Ensure key departmental processes are documented and updated routinely.
  • Participate in project work surrounding acquisitions and system upgrades as needed to ensure proper system set up that meets all accounting functionality and reporting demands.
  • Cultivate and maintain a dynamic business partner relationship across the organization, including but not limited to FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal and Operations.
  • Support strategic planning for accounting policies and implementation of internal controls over financial transactions
  • Accounting projects and other duties as required

Who You Are...
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 7 years of accounting experience in a multi company environment
  • Experience supporting international accounting in a global organization preferred
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel), ERP System Software, and other web-based applications
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, foreign currency, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Experience and understanding of IFRS and GAAP Accounting
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Forward thinker with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and ERP/GL systems
  • Ability to prioritize and meet competing deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Mature interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build strong working relationships

Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:
  • CPA, CMA or MBA
  • International Compliance and Statutory Reporting
  • Experience with IFS (ERP system)
  • Experience in the distilled spirits industry

Physical Requirements

While performing job duties, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, use of computer; and reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
