Director, Audience Development
Location: Remote USA
Salary: $110,000 - $150,000 DOE

Based in beautiful Los Angeles, we are one the largest multi-platform media networks working across America. We offer artists working in music, live streaming, television, and original/live content. Our platform has around 50 million subscribers across DirecTV, AT&T, Charter, Version, and quite a few others. We have been in business for 10 years, have around 250 employees, and are privately held. Due to growth, we are looking for a Director, Audience Development who will drive overall growth and brand awareness.

Audience Growth
  • Manage the strategy and execution of paid media across platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google, Outbrain, Taboola, Twitter, and other relevant channels.
  • Design and implement campaigns that drive engagement, traffic, and revenue expansion.
  • Conduct continuous A/B testing of ad creatives, landing pages, and audience targeting to enhance overall performance.
  • Refine audience segmentation and retargeting tactics to maximize reach and conversions.
  • Identify emerging advertising channels, formats, and trends to keep the brand at the forefront of industry developments.
  • Lead the process of recruiting and onboarding new content creators and channels to expand the network.
  • Stay informed on the latest developments in digital marketing, platform algorithms, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge in performance marketing.

Audience Retention
  • Direct the strategy for email and SMS campaigns, ensuring personalized, data-driven communication to boost engagement and retention.
  • Oversee audience segmentation, automation, and testing to improve campaign outcomes.
  • Collaborate with editorial and programming teams to synchronize messaging with audience behavior and engagement patterns.
  • Plan, develop, and manage email marketing campaigns, including newsletters, promotional initiatives, re-engagement efforts, and event promotions.
  • Optimize email content and design to enhance open rates, click-through rates (CTR), and conversions.

Audience Insights
  • Utilize tools like Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, YouTube Analytics, TikTok Ads Manager, and others to analyze performance and make data-backed decisions.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as CTR, CPC, ROAS, CPA, retention, and engagement metrics.
  • Prepare regular performance reports, offering insights and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with the data team to enhance attribution models, conversion tracking, and audience segmentation strategies.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Over 8 years of experience in performance marketing, audience growth, or digital development within media, entertainment, or digital content industries.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading teams, with a proven ability to mentor and guide marketing professionals.
  • Expertise in optimizing paid media strategies across platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google, Outbrain, Taboola, Twitter, and other DSPs.
  • Strong understanding of email/SMS marketing, conversion optimization (CRO), and audience segmentation techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and various ad management platforms.
  • Proven ability to scale digital audiences, reduce acquisition costs, and increase retention rates.
  • Expertise in A/B testing, growth hacking strategies, and media buying best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and adjust strategies to maximize marketing effectiveness.
  • A genuine passion for Hip Hop, youth culture, and the digital media landscape.
