Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead a home health care team in Indianapolis, IN. This key leadership role involves supervising both clinical and non-clinical staff, ensuring high standards of patient care, and overseeing operational efficiency. The Director of Nursing will play a pivotal role in managing clinical direction, developing staff, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Day to Day:
- Supervise a team of clinical and non-clinical staff, including PTs, OTs, CNAs, RNs, schedulers, billing, and payroll.
- Provide clinical direction, mentorship, and problem-solving to ensure quality patient care and meet competency expectations.
- Manage the department's operations within the allocated budget and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
- Participate in the hiring process, conducting interviews and giving final approval for new hires.
- Conduct performance evaluations and assist in staff development and training.
- Handle escalated client issues and provide on-site support via occasional home visits.
- Manage daily patient care coordination, medication inquiries, and address client concerns over phone calls (approx. 7 calls per hour).
- Identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance both patient care and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory/managerial experience in healthcare; prior experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) is a plus.
- Must have an active RN license.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to mentor, guide, and problem-solve for a team.
- Home health or long term experience.
Shift:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- No on-call or weekend shifts
Salary:
- $80,000 - 90,000
