SUMMARY
The Director of Nursing is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital by assuming administrative responsibility for the management of all department service functions on their shift. This role requires frequent rounds throughout the facility to monitor the delivery of care, oversee the quality of services, and direct patient care activities as needed. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient operations and patient flow throughout the hospital, as well as enhancing the patient/family experience through supportive interactions and explanations of hospital policies as needed.
Responsibilities
Responsible for departmental operations of all departments, Supervising all nursing staff.
Make frequent rounds throughout the facility to monitor the delivery of care, oversee the quality of services, and direct patient care activities as needed.
Directly supervise, provide support to, and communicate with all staff house-wide.
In the absence of the Hospital Administrative staff, the administrative scope and responsibility are extended to all services within the hospital.
Ensure efficient operations and patient flow throughout the hospital.
Perform direct patient care only as needed, within the scope of practice and competence.
Ensure all temporary agency personnel are deployed and oriented in compliance with hospital policy.
Assist medical staff with scheduling after-hour procedures and calling in stand-by call staff members.

Recruiting, training and onboarding new nursing staff

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education: Graduate of a school of nursing. B.S.N. preferred. Minimum Experience: Three to five year's clinical acute nursing experience, minimum one-year previous charge nurse or supervisory experience required. Knowledge of regulatory compliance. Required License/Certifications: Current RN license in the State of California. BLS certification ACLS, and MAB is required. Physical Demands: Employee must meet physical and mental requirements as identified by the physical activity evaluation form.
