Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Nurse (RN) to fill the role of Registered Nurse/Clinical II in our Postpartum Unit, working alongside our dedicated team.

Experience/Qualifications
  • A minimum of one (1) year of recent acute care nursing experience in postpartum, labor & delivery, or obstetrics

Education
  • ADN degree required; BSN degree preferred

Licensure/ Certification
  • Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • LA City Fire Card certification within 30 days of hire
  • Must complete and maintain certification for Mgmt. of Assaultive Behavior (ex. CPI- Non-violent Crisis Intervention) within 30 days of employment
  • American Heart Association BLS certification

Duties/ Responsibilities
  • Communication: Maintains professional communication using SBAR format, anticipates physician needs.
  • Confidentiality: Adheres to HIPAA and VPH policies, follows ethical and legal guidelines.
  • Cross-training: Trains in various areas as per hospital policy.
  • Documentation and system use: Utilizes technology for timely documentation, seeks skill improvement.
  • Care Evaluation: Collaborates to assess and modify care plans based on patient condition.
  • Infection Control: Adheres to precautions and sanitation standards.
  • Medication Administration: Administers medications per policy, reports errors promptly.
  • Nursing Process: Collects and interprets patient data, performs skills independently.
  • Patient Advocacy: Supports patient values and hygiene needs.
  • Patient Discharge: Provides ongoing education, plans for effective discharge.
  • Patient Satisfaction: Maintains compassionate approach, apologizes for delays, adheres to rounding policy.
  • Patient Throughput: Supports timely patient acceptance and discharge.
  • PI/Evidence-based Practice: Participates in quality initiatives and projects.
  • Professional Image: Exhibits professionalism in all aspects.
  • Must fulfill essential job functions.

Salary Range: $52.08 - 69.24
