In an effort to provide more seamless access for our wealthiest clients to our most differentiated products and capabilities, UBS recently announced the creation of a new "Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) Plus" client segment and the launch of an enhanced cross-divisional client service offering. In close coordination with the client's Financial Advisor, this client segment will be serviced by dedicated groups of subject matter experts across Wealth Management, the Investment Bank and Asset Management. Why? Sophisticated clients have sophisticated needs - we want to ensure clients continue to have the full suite of UBS capabilities at their fingertips.
We're looking for someone with those interests who can:
Prepare and build sophisticated models of wealth transfer and philanthropic strategies for clients, incorporating federal and state income and estate tax consequences
Independently review and summarize estate planning documents (e.g., Wills, Living Trusts and Irrevocable Trusts) to create a current estate analysis, including estimated estate and income tax calculations
Think critically about a client's assets and liabilities in order to educate a client about his or her options from a tax and planning standpoint
Perform research on income, estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer tax and philanthropic issues
interact with senior strategists, financial advisors and field experts

San Francisco, Los Angeles: the salary range for this role is $135000 to $175000
The expected salary range(s) for this role as of the date of this posting is/are based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, education, location and skill level. Your team
As a member of the Advanced Planning team (which is comprised of former practicing estate planning and tax attorneys and other tax professionals), you will work collaboratively with other team members and in partnership with financial advisors to proactively engage clients and prospects with a net worth of at least $50M in a dialogue surrounding advanced estate planning and income tax strategies, and the integration of those strategies with their estate plan and investment portfolios. You will prepare comprehensive and personalized analysis and review of a client's existing income tax planning (on an individual and entity basis) and analyses of proposed planning (e.g., forming a family office using a profits interest structure, modeling Qualified Small Business Stock planning), and educate clients on additional tax planning opportunities that may be suitable for them given their specific needs and objectives.
Your expertise
An advanced degree or designation (e.g., CPA, CFA, CFP)
Strong technical skills and experience with Excel, Numbercruncher and financial planning modeling tools
3-5 years minimum working at a financial, accounting or law firm that provided relevant experience to provide the duties described above
active Series 7 and 66 (or are required to obtain them within 90 days of hire)
ability to understand and assimilate complex personal financial information (tax returns, investment statements, incentive benefits, employee benefits and compensation, life insurance policies, business interests, qualified and nonqualified retirement plan information, pension and annuity information, deferred compensation information, incentive and non-qualified stock option and restricted stock information)
experience with the following areas, techniques and strategies: personal income, estate, gift, trust, and partnership tax disciplines, advanced wealth transfer planning techniques, philanthropic planning, planning with concentrated stock positions, incentive benefits, non-qualified stock options, incentive stock options, and restricted stock
skilled at working with a high degree of autonomy, set priorities and manage deadlines
organized, strong project coordination skills, a team-player, enthusiastic and positive, polished, poised and professional, self-motivated, and proactive
