JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Director of Payer Contracting and Relations assists in the development of CentraCare's payer strategies and relationships and leads the execution of those strategies. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payer agreements, including negotiating and renewing contracts, ensuring compliance, and optimizing reimbursement terms. Additionally, the Senior Director plays a key role in cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with payers to drive strategic partnerships and resolve issues. The Senior Director will work cross-functionally with leadership to align contracting strategies with organizational goals while fostering collaborative payer relationships that support financial and operational success.

- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills with demonstrated ability to influence payer decision-making and resolve complex issues.
- Financial acumen with experience in analyzing payer contract terms and performance data to drive financial results.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interface effectively with internal executives, payers, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including finance, revenue cycle, clinical operations, and legal.
- Leadership abilities in managing and developing high-performing teams in a complex healthcare environment.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align payer contracting and relationship management strategies with the organization's long-term financial and operational goals.
- Collaboration: Capacity to work effectively with multiple internal departments and external partners to meet organizational objectives. Solid knowledge of revenue cycle management and its connection to payer contracting and reimbursement strategies.
- Negotiation & Influence: Strong ability to negotiate complex contracts, influence payer behavior, and drive mutually beneficial agreements.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams to achieve high performance and successful outcomes.
- Problem Solving: Skilled in identifying issues within contracts and payer relationships and finding innovative solutions to optimize contract performance and reimbursement.
