Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty: PreOp & PostOp Surgery
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 10-hour days, Monday-Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in PreOp/PostOp
License: Active RN license
Certifications: BLS, ACLS
Must-Have: Ability to start IVs using Lidocaine, agreement and understanding of a Drug-Free Campus
Job Description:
- Work as a float nurse, starting IVs, assisting with admissions, and preparing patients for surgery
- Utilize equipment such as EPIC for computerized charting and medication systems
- Be flexible with shift hours, which can range between 6:00 am - 9:30 pm as needed
- Participate in a 1-2 day orientation program on the unit
- Manage patient care with a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in PreOp and a 1:2 ratio in Phase 2 PostOp
- Wear hospital-provided scrubs as per the dress code
- No floating to other units or departments
- Provide care in a unit with 22 beds and maintain compliance with hospital policies
- Understand the call-off policy that allows for the equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks without penalty
- Complete a nonbillable 12-hour orientation period at the start of the assignment
Additional Comments: Local candidates are welcomed within a 50-mile radius.
