We are currently recruiting for a Director of Psychosocial Treatment. The primary purpose of this position is to provide the conceptualization, implementation, and coordination for many of Central Regional Hospital's active group and individual treatments for children, adolescents, and adults, including oversight of the hospital's two DSOHF schools, an elementary school and a middle/high school. The position is highly visible within the facility and requires a dynamic person who can work collaboratively within the department and with other hospital staff. He/she must show concern for tasks and productivity as well as people and relationships.
This position works with executive leaders, department heads, and unit management teams to ensure the most comprehensive and effective integration and implementation of active treatment and staff training. This position establishes long-range goals necessary for the delivery of treatment services for all patients served by Central Regional Hospital and is also responsible for managing the fiscal, physical, and personnel resources needed to carry out the various treatment programs. Additionally, this position provides direct patient services through oversight and implementation of all programming and groups.
This position directly supervises three department heads, the school principal, child and adolescent management, and one administrative specialist. This position provides supervision and oversight responsibilities that consists of over one hundred (100) employees from multiple clinical and administrative classifications including: psychologists, behavioral programming specialists, clinical social workers, occupational therapists, recreational therapists, art therapists, music therapists, (or other creative/expressive arts therapists), registered nurses, health care technicians, community employment program managers, community employment program specialists, beauticians, substance use clinicians, mental health counselors, educators, special educators, and youth programming educational assistants. This position also oversees Central Regional Hospital's Step-Down Program, the Mental Health TV program, and Hospital Wide Activities such as dances, festivals, and school field trips. This position provides supervision of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) Coordinator and is responsible for assuring that all eligible Central Regional Hospital patients are given the opportunity to register to vote or change their voter registration information. This position reports directly to the Assistant Hospital Director to ensure that all treatment programs are integrated with the hospital's standards and objectives, evidence based and meet the needs of the individual patients.
This is a full-time position and is eligible for the full State benefits package. Normal working hours are primarily Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; however, flexibility is needed to meet hospital needs. This position is designated as Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events

Doctoral degree in psychology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of post-doctoral psychological experience, one of which must have been in supervising/ administering a psychological services program which included advanced clinical treatment, consultation, training and research.
Necessary Special Qualifications - one must fulfill all requirements for licensure in North Carolina as a licensed psychologist under provisions specified by the psychology practice act (G.S. 90-270).
