Certifications: BLS Required
Must-Have:
- Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy
- Foreign body removal
- Fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser)
- Injection of varices
- Small bowel biopsy
- Lower GI endoscopy
- Colonoscopy with biopsy
Job Description:
- This is a Monday-Friday position including both clinic and GI procedures.
- Monday-Tuesday might include a combination of clinic and procedures or solely clinic work (clinic shifts are 8 hours).
- Wednesday-Friday is designated for procedures with no clinic.
- Friday may consist of a half-day of procedures or extend to a full-day schedule.
- Role involves 1 day of 24-hour call, typically scheduled on Tuesday.
- No weekend shifts are required.
- Available dates for fulfilling the role are subject to change.
- Handle approximately 15 patient encounters per shift.
- Work within a department consisting of 5 beds.
- Procedures may include flexible or rigid sigmoidoscopy, preferred; and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), liver biopsy, and insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube, as preferred options.
- Nearest airport for travel is Central WI Airport.
- Facility is a Level 3 trauma center with a Level 3 pediatric unit.
- Estimated credentialing timeframe is approximately 90 days.
- The role requires fellowship experience in gastroenterology.
