Description

LSS Holdings, one of the fastest growing companies in the region, seeks a Controller to plan and direct the accounting functions of the company and the work of the Accounting Team, which is responsible for transactions related to the general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and bank reconciliation. The Controller will report to the President of LSS Holdings.

Below are the major duties of the Controller position.
Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
Oversees the work of the Accounting Team, which is responsible for transactions related to the general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and bank reconciliation
Monitors processes, procedures and reporting so that they are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
Responsible for making sure that the work of the department is in compliance with state and federal requirements
Ensures accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end closing
Coordinate the year-end audit preparation in consultation with the CPA firm
Ensures invoicing is completed in a timely manner.
Effectively manages cash flow and stays abreast of receivables
Works with the Staff Accountant and senior managers on bonus calculations
Provides monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for all LSS Holdings entities for the President and the senior management team
Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management
Closely monitors the budget lines throughout the year and conducts monthly and quarterly budget vs actual review sessions with the senior management team
Monitors cash flow and stays abreast of receivables and provides regularly updates to the President
Serves as the backup for payroll processing
Ensures accounting files are maintained to document transactions
Ensures the HR Department has the support it needs from Accounting and Finance to ensure that the company health insurance, 401k and other benefits are administered properly to employees
Supervises the Senior Staff Accountant, the Billing Specialist, the Staff Accountant and the Accounts Receivables Administrator and conducts performance evaluations.
Hires and trains new members of the Accounting Team and connects the members of the team with opportunities to maintain and update accounting skills
Other duties as assigned

Salary $85,000-up

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA, CMA or MBA a plus

At least five years of managerial accounting and financial management experience

Strong analytical and financial reporting skills

Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and NetSuite

Attention to detail and an ability to see the big picture in the company and in the industry

Self-directed and exceptional leadership abilities

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills

Capacity and willingness to explain accounting and financial concepts, including metrics to determine profitability, to non-financial managers
