Location: Downtown Hamilton

Job Type: Full-Time, In-Office (5 days a week)

Salary: $90,000 - $95,000 per year

Position Overview:

A well-established, boutique law firm in downtown Hamilton is seeking Senior Real Estate Law Clerk to support their real estate team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to assist in a variety of commercial real estate matters. The ideal candidate will bring a strong commercial real estate background, a high level of detail orientation, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and drafting of real estate agreements, including purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, financing documents, and related documents.
  • Manage and maintain detailed and organized real estate files, including closing checklists, correspondence, and other supporting documents.
  • Prepare and review title searches, surveys, and other due diligence documents for real estate transactions.
  • Coordinate real estate closings, including the preparation of closing documents, liaising with clients, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain communication with clients, managing their expectations and ensuring efficient document flow.
  • Assist in the preparation of documents required for the registration of real estate transactions with the Land Registry.
  • Conduct legal research as required for real estate matters and provide assistance to the team in resolving issues that may arise.
  • Prepare billing and manage client accounts in accordance with the firm's billing practices.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience: 5-10 years of commercial real estate law experience, including transactions, leasing, financing, and title issues.
  • Strong Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with lawyers, clients, and other team members while also being capable of working independently.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions and ensure accuracy.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in legal software (such as PC Law, Primafact), Microsoft Office Suite, and online legal research tools (Lexis Nexis or Westlaw).
