Job DescriptionThe Senior Assistant Dean of Students-Off Campus Student Support and Basic Needs provides high-level, strategic leadership for the Basic Needs and Off-Campus Student Support area within the Dean of Students Office. In alignment with the Virginia Tech Advantage initiative, this role is responsible for expanding support services for off-campus students ensuring that those with financial need, food insecurity, and other basic needs receive timely, comprehensive care and follow up. Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Students/Director of the Dean of Students Office, this position supervises four Assistant Deans, future Coordinator and Graduate Student. This role also oversees Student Affairs scholarship utilization and disbursement, leads food access and student emergency fund initiatives, and serves as a strategic partner with the Health Sciences and Technology (HS&T), Innovation and Steger Center campuses, and key external partners.

Required Qualifications Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related Human Services field.
Extensive experience in student support services, program development, and strategic leadership in higher education.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex programs and supervise diverse teams.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with off-campus student support, basic needs initiatives, and non-clinical case management.
Familiarity with scholarship oversight, food access programming, and relevant software systems.
Proven success in building partnerships with campus and community stakeholders.
