Staff Startup Coordinator - Power (Kansas City)

Description

This position as a Staff Startup Coordinator will be responsible for performing field electro-mechanical commissioning pre-job planning in support of startup commissioning efforts on various Power Plants and/or Industrial Plants. This position will perform pre-job planning of the commissioning efforts for a wide variety of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems in conformance with project startup standards and procedures.

What you will do:

• Compile and prepare documents for startup activities and major milestones.
• Develop commissioning plans including; scoping of turnover documents and development of turnover packages.
• Development of the turnover database and turnover documentation.
• Developing ITP's, ITR's, AHA's for commissioning individual process systems.
• Support projects with budgeting, labor forecasting, contract management.
• Prepare and present clear startup procedures as required by clients.
• Perform discipline section commissioning activities and testing of startup packages as required in accordance with plans, procedures and agreements.
• Prepare documentation for proper maintenance of startup packages.
• Provide vendor technical support for equipment testing and commissioning in order to achieve daily testing goals.
• Observe and promote company and site safety policies

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Power & Controls or a relevant field of study. May also have an associates degree and 6 years of experience, or applicable years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
• Minimum of four (4) years of Startup Commissioning experience on Power or Industrial Plants required
• Computer Skills: MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat.
• Completion of, or ability to obtain, OSHA 10-hour certification

Travel

• Position will be expected to travel to jobsites to support the field startup team. Travel expected to be 25-50%.
