Description:
The Physician Lead Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) is a Medical Leadership role governed by the Medical Staff Rules and is responsible for overseeing clinical operations involving members of the SART Team and reports to the Associate Zone Medical Director -Family Medicine.
On-going recruitment of SART physicians.
Coordination of training of physicians for Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence and ongoing monitoring and evaluation of clinical competency of SART medical team members.
Collaborative development of protocols for management of Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence patients assessed and cared for by the SART team.
Responsible for ensuring physician involvement in Quality Improvement, Research and ongoing education of physicians and other SART members.
Provide representation for SART at zone committees as required.
Responsible for the initial investigation of patient complaints concerning physician behaviours or physician practice associated with SART.
Responsible for addressing concerns regarding care of SART patients in the community and Emergency Departments which do not meet the current standards of care.
Examine issues brought forward by physicians, nurses and allied health and non-health partners of SART, which impact on the daily functioning and care of SART patients.
Collaborate with team members and community partners in the provision of education regarding sexual assault.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution and have a passion for quality and patient safety. The successful applicant will also be committed to fulfilling clinical and non-clinical duties as a representative of the South Zone.
