Job Purpose: Responsible for consolidating financial statements as needed, recording life income entries, reviewing/monitoring event activities to ensure compliance with State and Local regulations. Perform audits on financial documents to ensure accuracy. Reports directly to Associate Vice President.

Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $72,000 to $90,000 annually. This target is based on available budget and the level and scope of the role. An offer will be made commensurate to the candidate's experience, education, and qualifications as they pertain to the duties of this position.

Benefits: This role qualifies for participation in the Foundation's benefits plans. Medical, Dental, and Vision plans are offered and covered 85% by the Foundation. These plans may also cover dependents. Also partially covered by the Foundation are Short Term Disability (STD), Long Term Disability (LTD), Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), and supplemental Life Insurance. Additionally available are a 403(b) plan with contribution from the employer and the ability to participate in a flexible spending account (FSA). Employees may participate in any number of these plans.

Duties include but are not limited to:

General Accounting
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for CSMF Property Management Corp.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for OreDigger Assets
  • Work with the Mines Venture Fund to ensure financial statements are recorded correctly and information is transferred between entities
  • Demonstrates strong not-for-profit and other U.S. GAAP accounting knowledge and experience to apply when consolidating monthly financial statements
  • Perform various general ledger reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Prepares and reviews journal entries and complex underlying supporting schedules and documents with the ability to explain such analysis to non- financial staff
  • Prepares the quarterly life income and gift annuity journal entries and working closely with TIAA Kaspick and the Foundation's gift planning team to ensure all gifts are recorded properly. Monitors the life income assets' quarterly distributions
  • Prepare yearly NPV calculation and proactively monitor trusts for changes needed
  • Prepares and analyzes various year-end reports for Finance staff in connection with 990 and 990T filings
  • Life Income IRS tax documents - reviews the annual 1099R's for the gift annuities beneficiaries, monitors the K-1's and the new calendar year distribution reports from TIAA Kaspick, and ensures that the tax returns are filed appropriately
  • Assists with year-end audit by providing information at the auditor's request
  • Works with CSM on a quarterly basis to track Proof of concept spending and draws
  • Record Cooper Hansen - quarterly entry
  • Tax implications for special events and recording the gift portion and other activity in general ledger - 990 reporting
  • Review and monitor pledge receivable reports, reconciliations, journal entries, bank reconciliations, cash flow, and general ledger accounts
  • Performs other operational duties to assist with internal controls

Daily Cash Management
  • Responsible for operational cash flow
  • Maintain a system of controls for bank deposits, wires and expenditures

Analyst
  • Designs and implements advanced systems to fit the organization's needs
  • Analyzes, compares, and interprets facts and figures; must be able to identify and solve unstructured problems
  • Works collaboratively with the IT department to develop and maintain the integration of the systems used by F&A
  • Prepares financial reports and presentations utilizing modern analytical tools (charts/graphs/etc.)
  • Enhance spreadsheets used by the FA and other departments

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA designation preferred
  • Possess a minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of related experience in finance and investments
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Advanced skills with financial systems and accounting software
  • Ability to promote effective working relationships to accomplish objectives and build team support
  • Excellent customer service skills, anticipating customers' needs and responds with creative solutions
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills; proven ability to communicate complex and/or sensitive data
  • Experience creating and delivering effective presentations with confidence
  • High organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data
  • Ability to interpret and translate procedures and guidelines to evaluate complex problems and complicated challenges to provide solutions and resolve problems to achieve broad objectives
  • Plans, designs, carry out projects/tasks meeting objectives and deadline
