Overview

Oak View Group is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Security Engineer to join our growing security team. This individual will lead the design, deployment, and administration of Microsoft Security solutions, serving as the primary point of contact for security monitoring and incident response teams. They will provide proactive fine-tuning of security configurations, incorporating insights from the threat and incidence respond findings to continuously improve OVG's security posture. The role requires close collaboration with technical and non-technical staff to assess, guide, and continuously improve the security posture at OVG. The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex problems, staying ahead of evolving threats, and learning new skills and technologies in a dynamic landscape.

This role pays a yearly salary of $128,000 to $140,000 and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage security configurations across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
  • Enhance identity and access management (IAM) solutions, including conditional access policies, MFA, and identity protection.
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents using Microsoft Sentinel and other security tools.
  • Research, test, and recommend new security tools and technologies.
  • Partner with security vendors to define requirements, refine controls, and ensure effective incident response and SLA compliance.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for technologies, tools, and processes.
  • Provide practical security guidance to technical and non-technical staff to improve awareness and adherence to best practices.
  • Proactively identify vulnerabilities by assessing applications, processes, and infrastructure, and recommend solutions.
  • Stay informed on emerging security threats, trends, and technologies to improve OVG's defense strategies.

Qualifications

Required:
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Microsoft Security Engineer.
  • Proven expertise with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Microsoft security tools, including Defender and Sentinel.
  • Demonstrated ability to configure and optimize conditional access, identity protection, and MFA solutions.
  • Proficiency in scripting or coding for automating security tasks (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Familiarity with security testing tools (e.g., Metasploit, nmap, Nessus, Burp Suite, ZAP).
  • Strong understanding of cloud security standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for diverse audiences.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and a commitment to solving problems, not just completing tasks.
  • A strong ethical mindset and professionalism in all interactions.


Preferred:
  • Microsoft Security Certifications (e.g., SC-200, SC-300, SC-400, AZ-500).
  • Experience conducting threat modeling and risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and implementation.
  • Hands-on experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools.
