SUMMARY

The Senior Electrical Designer will provide electrical design services on a variety of commercial building projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as Lead Designer on assigned projects
  • Manage the planning and scheduling of assigned projects of various sizes and complexity
  • Ensure quality control and assurance metrics are met throughout project duration
  • Work with clients to deliver the end project
  • Visit the site once under construction at regular intervals as required by the project
  • Provide cost control during the design and construction process
  • Maintain project schedule and project cost summaries to track work progress, budget status, and manpower resource utilization
  • Coordinate the work of assigned team members
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Technical design on assigned projects
  • Assist in the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications) for new buildings and for renovations and additions to existing facilities
  • Provide coordination of project designs with other disciplines
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Completion of a high school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED)
  • Proficient in the use of Autodesk Revit
  • Six (6) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in electrical design
  • Basic proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Understanding of the design of lighting, receptacle, and data layouts based on building types
  • Knowledge of running photometrics with AG132 or Visual
  • Knowledge of related building and electrical codes
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices
  • Proficient in the use of Revit

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer designation
  • Previous project manager or senior designer experience
  • Certifications in Energy Management
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the MEP field
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Revit
