Position Summary

BAE Systems is hiring a Business Continuity Specialist to support business continuity for the Electronic Systems Sector supporting 65 sites across 22 states. In this Business Continuity Specialist position you will make impacts in the followin ways;
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the sector business continuity program and lifecycle
  • Maintain the policies, procedures, and guidelines for business continuity planning including emergency response, incident management, business recovery and risk mitigation
  • Collaborate with functional and cross sector stakeholders to align the program with overall business objectives, risk management and compliance requirements
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities impacting critical business functions and utilize a business impact analysis process
  • Support and facilitate exercises, drills and tabletop to assess the potential consequences of business disruptions and prioritize recovery efforts
  • Analyze existing systems, processes, and infrastructure to ensure they are resilient and adaptable to potential risks
  • Work with site leaders, contractors and stakeholders to ensure thorough effective plans are tailored to specific space and business needs
  • Design and lead business continuity and disaster recovery drills, tabletop exercises and simulations to test plan effectiveness and continuously improve strategies and process
  • Develop training program for employees at all levels to raise awareness of procedures and roles
  • Act as a key member of the incident management team, coordinating response efforts during actual interruptions and emergencies
  • Ensure proper documentation of incidents, lessons learned and after-action reviews to improve future responses
  • Utilize data driven, innovative solutions, to regularly review and assess program performance
  • Provide regular reports and presentations to management
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, standards and frameworks
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Education

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status and eligibility to obtain a US security clearance.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma and 7-10 years of experience with 3 or more years related to business contiuity within an organization
  • Must have eligibility to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
  • Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function under pressure and stressful emergency situations
  • Capable of developing collaborative relationships both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to implement innovative solutions and be a curious continuous learner willing to explore alternative ideas
  • Have a can-do attitude, strong bias for action and be driven problem solver
  • Ability to identify and address inefficiencies and functional overlap and implement solutions that foster synergies and alignment
  • Demonstrated ability to instill culture of compliant business execution, without roadblocks


Preferred Skills and Education

  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Working knowledge of business continuity software tools and platforms
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and frameworks (ISO 22301, ISO 22317, BCI, DRI, etc.)
  • Certification in business continuity (ABCP, CBCP or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in the development and coordination of a BCM programs, projects, best practices, and plans that increase business resilience and mitigate risk
