We are seeking an Associate Software Engineer with experience with C++, JavaScript (JS), React, and Python to join our dynamic team. The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications. The proposed salary for this position is:
$86,000-$143,200 USD

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and implementing features and functionality in collaboration with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Write efficient, maintainable, and reusable code in languages such as C++, JavaScript (JS), React, and Python.
- Participate in Agile development cycles, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and daily tasks.
- Participate in writing unit tests and integration tests to ensure the reliability and robustness of the software; assist in debugging and troubleshooting issues.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and receiving feedback for self-improvement.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, including system specifications and user guides.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in software development and apply new knowledge to projects and tasks.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C++, JavaScript (JS), React, and Python.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming principles.
- Internship or academic project experience related to software development.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems.
- Ability to write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative development environment.
- Clearance Required: Secret. This position requires the ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance. Interim or Active DOD Secret clearance or higher is preferred. Due to the clearance requirement, U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate also must agree to participate in a background screen.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with Agile development practices such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Basic knowledge of automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Selenium, TestNG).
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines is a plus.
