You will work closely with engineering, data science, and industry experts to develop smart water management solutions, including real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, and cloud-based water utility platforms. The ideal candidate has experience in SaaS solutions for utilities, IoT-based water management, or AI-driven operational insights.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management (Strategic & Market-Focused)
- Define and drive product vision, roadmap, and strategy for water utility software solutions, ensuring alignment with industry needs.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and user interviews to identify opportunities and validate product-market fit.
- Develop data-driven insights to improve asset management, leak detection, water quality monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and industry partners to drive adoption and customer success.
Product Ownership (Execution & Agile Delivery)
- Serve as the Product Owner, defining and prioritizing the backlog for Agile development teams.
- Write detailed user stories and acceptance criteria tailored to water utility operational workflows.
- Work closely with software engineers, data scientists, and UX teams to ensure seamless integration of IoT, AI, and cloud-based technologies.
- Review sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies to optimize development cycles.
Project Management (Execution & Delivery Oversight)
- Develop and oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with water industry regulations (EPA, AWWA, local utility standards) in product development.
- Manage cross-functional teams and coordinate between utility customers, internal stakeholders, and technology partners.
- Track and report key project milestones, addressing roadblocks proactively to meet delivery deadlines.
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, and project management within the water, utilities, or industrial IoT sectors.
- Strong understanding of water utility challenges, including leak detection, SCADA systems, AMI/AMR metering, and predictive maintenance.
- Experience with SaaS platforms, cloud-based applications (AWS, Azure, GCP), and data analytics for utility management.
- Proficiency in Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) and tools like JIRA, Trello, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating with public utilities, municipalities, and regulatory bodies.
- Experience with IoT-enabled water monitoring, AI-powered asset management, or GIS-based decision support tools is a plus.
- Certifications such as PMP, CSPO, SAFe, or relevant industry credentials are a plus but not required.
