Description:

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Production Stamping Manager to lead a team responsible for stamping operations within the Semi Operations team. This role will focus on scaling production, improving manufacturing processes, and driving operational efficiency while maintaining a high standard of quality and safety. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to implement process improvements, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure seamless production execution. A strong background in A-class stamping, tooling, or metal forming is essential, along with a hands-on leadership approach in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Production Associates and Supervisors to optimize stamping processes for quality, efficiency, and cost reduction
  • Establish and maintain production process standards, ensuring continuous improvement in safety, quality, and throughput
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to define, qualify, and scale new or modified manufacturing processes
  • Implement and maintain Lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, material flow optimization, and equipment reliability programs
  • Develop and execute preventative maintenance strategies for tooling and stamping equipment to reduce downtime
  • Drive problem-solving initiatives using data analysis, SPC tools, and root cause methodologies to resolve production bottlenecks
  • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Focus: Responsibilities include ensuring team safety training, documenting EHS incidents, proactively identifying workplace hazards, and empowering teams towards continuous operational improvements adjust the order of bullet points to what flows the best if needed


Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in stamping, metal forming, or automotive production
  • Strong understanding of stamping processes, tooling maintenance, and process improvement methodologies
  • Proven experience in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making
  • Hands-on leadership approach with the ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to support new product introduction and process scaling
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SPC, Six Sigma, or similar)
