Vice President, Operations and Risk Management

Hybrid /Kansas City Metro/ Full-time

The Vice President of Operations and Risk Management will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring the effective execution of operational and risk management strategies across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning across all departments.
  • Develop and implement strategies to automate processes and create operational efficiencies.
  • Participate in strategic discussions regarding budgeting, planning, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Play a key role in the development and execution of the organization's overall strategic and operational plans.
  • Work with senior leadership to adapt and implement new products and processes to drive business growth.

Risk Management and Claims Oversight
  • Collaborate with the Director of Claims and Risk Management to design and execute industry-specific risk management solutions.
  • Provide risk management guidance to key clients, ensuring tailored solutions that support their unique needs.
  • Oversee the claims process, working closely with insurance carriers and third-party claims teams to manage claims and subrogation activities.
  • Monitor and analyze risk management data to identify improvement opportunities.

Team Development and Support
  • Promote ongoing professional development, education, and training to enhance the technical knowledge and capabilities of the team.
  • Align recruitment, training, and human capital strategies with the organization's goals.
  • Measure and track team productivity and identify opportunities for improvement, training, and technology integration.
  • Partner with team leads to develop and implement talent acquisition and development programs.

Process Improvement and Vendor Management
  • Identify opportunities for continuous process improvements across departments and work with senior leaders to execute them.
  • Evaluate and collaborate with external vendors to ensure the most efficient solutions are in place for business needs and requirements.
  • Develop and execute initiatives to improve internal and external communication, client deliverables, and overall client service processes.

Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree.
  • At least 5+ years of relevant senior-level operational management experience.
  • A basic understanding of the Property & Casualty industry is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, able to effectively bridge the gap between insurance and technology.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams to successful outcomes.
