Your Opportunity

The Manager, Trust Investment Officer (MTIO) of Charles Schwab Trust Company is responsible for selecting and maintaining investment solutions for our trust clients. They will engage with all partners during the onboarding process to ensure clear communications, consistent expectations, and positive client outcomes. The MTIO will work to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal banking regulations.

What you have

What you are good at:
  • Ensures each trust account is invested in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and the terms of the governing instrument
  • Maintains high client service levels through prompt research and response to trust officers and trust beneficiaries
  • Creates an Investment Policy Statement that supports each trust and ensures trust assets meet risk and returns goals
  • Handles a portfolio of assigned accounts which includes developing the trust investment policy statement, overall asset allocation, and investment selection for each account
  • Ensures processes are executed with a "Through the Client's Eyes" perspective and consistent with Schwab's client-first culture
  • Reviews and monitors required trust capital and liquidity requirements and effectuates vital security transactions
  • Performs pre-acceptance and post-acceptance investment reviews on assigned trust accounts
  • Ensures annual account investment reviews are performed timely for all open trust accounts
  • Implements investment policies, procedures, and actions developed by the Personal Trust Fiduciary Committee
  • Proactively identify trust issues and takes appropriate action to resolve them
  • Responsible for running and maintaining investment management reports and investment related data

What you have:
  • 5+ years of investment related experience in trust financial services and practical experience in evaluating, supervising and maintaining trust portfolios
  • Solid understanding of the principles of trust investments including specific experience in modern portfolio theory, asset allocation, principals of diversification, market strategy, and portfolio construction
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Relevant professional designation such as CFP (Certified Financial Planner), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) or CTFA (Certified Trust Financial Advisor) preferred
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with a variety of people
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter with a proactive approach to problem solving
