Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) Financial Services team is seeking an experienced Finance Professional to join our team, specifically to have a lead role in the Budgets Unit as the Naval Reactors Technical Budget Plan (NRTPB) Balancing lead. The unit is responsible for managing and submitting the annual NRTBP including all associated deliverables and assisting in all facets of the resource planning activities for the enterprise. As the Finance Professional and Balancing lead for the unit, you will work side by side with Source of Fund Managers, Directorate Management Offices, and Senior Leadership to ensure that NNL appropriately balances it's resources to submit a balanced and accurate budget on time. This support will include tracking current and out-year targets by SOF, reviewing/preparing NRTBP deliverables, assist in leading the development of the 20-year plan submittal, as well as any other finance related activities that will help the NRTBP and other high impact budget adjacent deliverables. This position also includes the responsibility of being a lead for the unit, taking on an active role in managing ad hoc tasks the unit receives throughout the year. The candidate is expected to be able to work or lead others through these ad hoc budget taskers independently with minimal management support. The ideal candidate is expected to exemplify a high level of leadership behaviors, as well as provide the utmost level of customer service and quality products to the organization and our stakeholders. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.


Preferred Skills

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience managing budgets.
  • Experience with analyzing financial performance and/or workforce analysis (past, current, and/or future forecasts) and business recommendations.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills (e.g. developing/delivering presentations and collaborating with various stakeholders to create resolutions).
  • Ability to adapt to uncertainties and prioritize work effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent teaming skills including working across boundaries/locations.
  • Degrees in Business, Finance, or Accounting are preferred

Pay Range

$92,900.00 - $145,200.00 annually
