Overview

The Director of Ambulatory and Rehab Services-Operations is responsible for the development, management, and operations of ambulatory and rehab services and specialty programs across PAM Health. These functions include dotted line responsibility of Directors of Rehabilitation across the hospitals, therapy operations and strategic direction, growth, program development, budget oversight, quality assurance, compliance, risk management, therapy policies and procedures, and marketing support relating to PAM Health's ambulatory and rehab services and specialty programs. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. This is an exempt position. This position requires up to 70% travel.

Responsibilities

Resource Management
  • Provides or arranges for sufficient and appropriate training for assigned staff (Directors of Rehabilitation).
  • Provides oversight and direction of ambulatory and rehab services.
  • Develops the program budget, monitors budget performance, and ensures effective cost control in conjunction with hospital financial management.
  • Suggests new ideas for clinical programs and/or services. Makes recommendations regarding termination of programs and/or services.
  • Ensures compliance with standards, rules and regulations of accrediting and regulatory agencies.
  • Implements standardized processes and resource allocation to ensure effective and efficient rehabilitation service delivery across PAM's hospitals and ambulatory and rehab clinics.

Quality Assurance
  • Participates in implementation of appropriate and effective quality assurance, program evaluation and risk management programs in coordination with the other corporate quality and compliance teams.
  • Implements the Post Acute Medical (PAM) philosophy of rehabilitation in all aspects of rehabilitation operations.
  • Ensures program functions are coordinated with the appropriate corporate staff, to include but not limited to: EVP of Development and Hospital Analytics, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Clinical Officer, Chief Medical Officer. Provides reports as required.

Marketing
  • Assists and supports the strategic initiatives team in the communication and strategy to market rehabilitation services.
  • Maintains contacts in the national rehabilitation association, physical therapy association, and national disease specific associations on behalf of Post Acute Medical.
  • Maintains professional memberships and continuing education as required by licensure and certification.
  • Identifies business opportunities and development with rehabilitation services and post-acute care service delivery.


Qualifications

Education and Training: Current therapy license (e.g., PT, OT, SLP) or nursing license (e.g., RN/LVN)
Experience: Masters degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare setting or equivalent healthcare setting.
