What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize the efficiency and performance of lab and radiology services.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align diagnostic services with EPIC Health's mission and long-term vision.
  • Identify growth opportunities and implement solutions to expand service capacity and improve patient access.

Operational Oversight
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of lab and radiology departments, ensuring smooth workflows and minimal downtime.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet patient demand and maintain quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including CLIA and HIPAA.
  • Implement and refine processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and turnaround times for diagnostic services.

Financial Management
  • Develop and manage department budgets, focusing on cost control and maximizing reimbursement opportunities.
  • Identify areas for financial improvement without compromising service quality or patient care.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to inform strategic decisions and enhance profitability.

Quality and Performance Improvement
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics for lab and radiology services.
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives to enhance diagnostic accuracy and reduce error rates.
  • Introduce new technologies and best practices to maintain a competitive edge and drive continuous improvement.

Team Development
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of lab technicians, radiologic technologists, interventional radiologists, and support staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance staff expertise and retention across all of EPIC - including primary care providers and other specialty service lines.

Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Build strong relationships with physicians, clinical teams, and external partners to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Act as a key liaison between diagnostic services and other clinical departments to streamline care coordination.
  • Partner with senior leadership to support expansion of diagnostic services and new clinical initiatives.

Technology and Innovation
  • Evaluate and implement new diagnostic technologies to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Partner with IT to integrate lab and radiology systems with the Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform.
  • Stay informed on industry advancements and apply innovations to enhance service capabilities.

Compliance and Risk Management
  • Ensure all diagnostic services comply with accreditation standards, safety protocols, and legal regulations.
  • Develop and enforce policies to protect patient privacy, data security, and equipment integrity.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and resolve operational vulnerabilities.

What You Bring

Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in healthcare operations, with direct experience in lab and radiology services.
  • Strong background in managing high-volume diagnostic departments, including staffing and resource management.
  • Proven success in improving operational efficiency and patient satisfaction in a healthcare setting.

Skills and Competencies
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills-able to engage and motivate teams at all levels.
  • Proficient in healthcare management software, financial reporting tools, and EHR systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Healthcare Administration (e.g., Certified Healthcare Executive, Certified Medical Practice Executive).
  • Experience managing multi-site diagnostic services or healthcare facilities.
  • Familiarity with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) and LIS (Laboratory Information Systems).
