We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Practice Assistant to join our real estate team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting attorneys with a variety of tasks related to real estate transactions. Responsiblities
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and organizing real estate documents, including purchase agreements, lease agreements, closing documents, title reports, and due diligence materials.
- Prepare closing binders and ensure all relevant documents are properly filed and organized.
- Communicate with clients, real estate agents, title companies, and other parties involved in transactions.
- Coordinate the exchange of documents and information between clients and attorneys, ensuring timely responses.
- Conduct title and lien searches, zoning research, and property due diligence.
- Assist in reviewing property conditions, legal descriptions, and other essential information related to transactions.
- Track and monitor transaction deadlines, including inspection periods, financing contingencies, and closing dates.
- Coordinate with other legal assistants, paralegals, and team members to ensure smooth transaction processes.
- Organize and maintain files, both physical and electronic, in compliance with firm protocols.
- Schedule meetings, calls, and appointments related to real estate transactions.
- Manage the billing process for real estate transactions, including preparation of client invoices and time tracking.
- Ensure compliance with applicable real estate laws, regulations, and firm policies.
- Assist attorneys with preparing for closings, hearings, or other legal proceedings as necessary.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent in a related field; Paralegal certification is a plus.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role, preferably in real estate law or a related practice area.
- Strong knowledge of real estate law, contracts, and transaction processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (e.g., Clio, LexisNexis, or similar tools).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
