Why Jackson:Holtz Children's Hospital at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center is one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the southeast United States, where UHealth - University of Miami Health System physicians treat children from throughout Florida and the Caribbean. Holtz Children's is known worldwide for its care of critically ill newborns in its neonatal intensive care unit, which is one of the largest in the United States and boasts some of the best medical outcomes. In collaboration with the Miami Transplant Institute, Holtz Children's is one of only three centers in the country that specializes in pediatric multi-organ transplants. It is home to one of only three state-accredited comprehensive children's kidney failure centers and one of the largest pediatric kidney transplant programs in the world. The Children's Heart Center at Holtz Children's is the only comprehensive children's heart program in South Florida. In partnership with the University of Miami, Holtz Children's also trains the most pediatric physicians of any medical center in the southeastern United States.
Summary
The Vice President of the Pediatric and Women's Program provides leadership specifically for the development, management, and growth of specialized pediatric and women's services program within the hospital. This role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence, patient safety, and operational efficiency, while aligning program-specific goals with the broader strategic plan of the Jackson Health System.
Responsibilities
Experience
Generally requires 7 to 10 years of related experience. Leadership experience is required.
Education
Bachelor's degree in related field is required. Master's degree is preferred.
Skill
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Skill in monitoring/assessing the performance to make improvements or take corrective action. Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs. Ability to establish goals and objectives. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

- Develops and executes strategic plans to advance pediatric and women's programs, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. Identifies innovative opportunities and partnerships that expand service offerings and improve health outcomes in pediatric and women's care.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the pediatric and women's programs, ensuring seamless service delivery and regulatory compliance.
- Leads quality assurance initiatives and implements evidence-based practices to enhance clinical outcomes and patient experience.
- Collaborates with executive leadership to create and manage program-specific budgets.
- Monitors financial performance, implements cost control measures, and ensures efficient resource utilization while maintaining service excellence.
- Provides mentorship and leadership to program managers and clinical teams, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
- Implements professional development initiatives to enhance team skills and competencies in pediatric and women's healthcare.
- Promotes integration between pediatric and women's clinical services and other hospital departments to provide coordinated care.
- Establishes care pathways and coordination protocols that reduce fragmentation and improve patient outcomes.
- Develops and oversees quality improvement programs, tracking key performance indicators related to clinical effectiveness, patient safety, and satisfaction.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory and accreditation standards specific to pediatric and women's services.
- Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clinical leaders, community partners, and patients.
- Represents the pediatric and women's programs in internal forums, external meetings, and public engagements, effectively communicating program goals and achievements.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
